The press service of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced the closure of the "Zhibek Zholy" checkpoint starting February 5, reports Kazpravda.kz
“Due to the closure by the Uzbek side for the completion of the construction of the 'Gisht-Kuprik' checkpoint for a period of 4 months, the 'Zhibek Zholy' checkpoint on the Kazakh side will also be closed starting February 5. In this regard, the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan informs that individuals crossing the border through the aforementioned checkpoints on foot and in personal vehicles need to reconsider their routes,” the official notice states.
It is also reported that pedestrian crossings will be conducted through the checkpoints “Kaplanbek,” “B. Konyspayev,” and the control checkpoints “Syrdarya” and “Tselinny.”
The movement of freight vehicles will be carried out through the checkpoints “B. Konyspayev,” “Atameken,” “Kazygurt,” and “Tazhen.”
The movement of railway transport will be conducted through the railway checkpoints “Saryagash” and “Beineu,” the KGD added.
