The Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan has presented key aspects of the state youth policy for 2024, as reported by Kazpravda.kz
In the framework of youth policy implementation, essential conditions are being created to support and develop young people, assistance is provided for their employment and housing, grant projects are being realized, and competitions are held to identify and promote talents in various fields, while youth leadership is encouraged.
The main focus of work with Kazakhstani youth in 2024 is the "Adal Azamat" concept, which promotes the values of honesty, justice, and hard work.
Youth organizations and resource centers for young people actively participated in the nationwide campaign "Taza Kazakhstan." As part of the "Zhasyl El" project, nearly 35,000 young people across the country were engaged in seasonal employment.
Particular attention is given to working with NEET youth, which numbers over 160,000 individuals. These are young Kazakhs without education and employment. This year, to support initiatives from NEET youth, the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan allocated 280 grants under the "Zhas Project."
To facilitate employment, the "Jol Tap" program has been implemented in Astana since 2023, and starting in 2024, the "Jumys Tap" program will be introduced in Almaty and the Aktobe and Karaganda regions. More than 500 job fairs have been held across the country since the beginning of the year.
At the beginning of 2024, the composition of the "Youth Policy Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was updated. This year, the Council members initiated and awarded the "Jas Kenes Syilygy" prize for young professionals for the first time.
This year, for the first time, Kazakhstan celebrated the International Youth Day with a national decade titled "Zhastarmen Birge!" which lasted from August 3 to 12. Over 10 days, more than 5,000 events were conducted, reaching over 1 million participants.
The award ceremony for the brightest and most talented youth of Kazakhstan - the winners of the State Prize "Daryn" - took place. Twenty young Kazakhs distinguished themselves in creativity, science, sports, media, and information technology.
Thirty winners of the "Tөуелсіздік ұрпақтары" grant received state support, with their projects recognized as the best. These initiatives span culture, science, media, information technology, and business. This year, a new category - "Volunteering" - was also introduced.
A roadmap has been developed to strengthen cooperation with republican youth organizations for the years 2024-2026.
Additionally, conditions are being created for international experience and interaction among Kazakhstani youth. For instance, on August 5, an intellectual game ZAKOVAT was held in Astana between teams from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. On April 18, a Kazakh-Kyrgyz youth forum took place in Astana with the participation of creative youth and leaders of youth organizations.
