According to her, individuals who skip breakfast may end up eating poorly at school or work, leading to increased appetite in the evening.
The expert emphasized that failing to consume the necessary calories and nutrients throughout the day could result in overeating at night. This can lead to the development of certain health issues.
“During the day, they might eat some food, snack, or even have fast food, yet they still feel hungry because they haven’t consumed filling, healthy meals. Several meals in the evening and before bedtime can lead to weight problems, obesity, and type 2 diabetes,” Mikhaleva stated.
She advised individuals prone to overeating not to skip breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Alternatively, two meals a day is acceptable: a late breakfast and an early dinner.
“In some cases, skipping breakfast can create a vicious cycle, where a person doesn’t get hungry overnight and ends up not eating anything in the morning,” the doctor explained.
