A specialist listed the fruits that can be the most dangerous.
Fifth in the anti-ranking is grapes. Even a small bunch can provide a surge of energy due to its high glucose content, but it can also negatively impact your figure. The glycemic index of grapes is at the upper limit of the normal range.
“It is relatively low in calories, but due to the high amount of sugar, it is not recommended to include it in your diet. It triggers the hormone insulin, secreted by the pancreas, which stores fat in the body,” the expert noted.
In fourth place, the nutritionist placed persimmon, which is a good source of antioxidants and beta-carotene, but is not recommended for people with diabetes due to its glycemic index. According to the nutritionist, it's best not to eat more than one fruit a day.
Next is the banana — a source of quick energy. The nutritionist reminded that the WHO recommends limiting sugar intake to 25 grams per day, and a ripe banana contains half the daily sugar limit for an adult.
In second place is pineapple, which, by the way, cannot burn fat, contrary to popular myth.
Finally, the leader of the anti-ranking, the true “champion,” according to the expert, is melon with a glycemic index of 75. When consuming melon, the blood literally fills with glucose, so even healthy individuals are advised not to consume more than 200 grams of the fruit per day.
