Top welterweight fighter in the UFC, Kazakhstan's Shavkat Rakhmonov, has no doubt about his victory over Irishman Ian Garry, reports Vesti.kz with reference to MMA.Metaratings.ru.
Their match is set to take place on December 8 in Las Vegas, USA. Garry is stepping in for the organization's champion Belal Muhammad, who was unable to fight Rakhmonov due to health issues.
“I will win by finish because I am a versatile fighter, and I am ready to secure my place as the number one contender for the UFC title. In this weight class, I am a problem for any opponent. I am technically strong and well-prepared in all aspects. I will enter the fight fully ready and will do my job at UFC 310,” Rakhmonov stated, as reported by UFC.
Rakhmonov last fought in December 2023 at UFC 296, defeating Stephen Thompson via submission in the second round. He boasts an impressive record of 18 wins and no losses.
Garry last stepped into the octagon in June 2024 at UFC 303, winning against Michael Page by unanimous decision. He also holds a record of 15 wins and no losses.
