The former UFC welterweight champion, Nigerian fighter Kamaru Usman (20-4), has expressed interest in a match against the undefeated Kazakh fighter Shavkat Rakhmonov (18-0), reports Vesti.kz.
Recently, Rakhmonov's fight with the current champion of the division, Belal Muhammad (24-3), which was scheduled for December 7 in Las Vegas (USA) at UFC 310, was called off.
Following the news of the fight cancellation, Usman posted an intriguing message with emojis on social media. Some fans speculated that the number two ranked fighter hinted at his willingness to face Rakhmonov.

Previously, two other fighters from the top 10 of the division had called out Shavkat - Irishman Ian Machado Garry (15-0) and American Joaquin Buckley (20-6).
After the fight with the champion fell through, Rakhmonov declared his readiness to fight any contender for the interim title at UFC 310, stating, "I’ll take his zero."
