Garry (15-0) will go up against American Joaquin Buckley, who holds a 5-0 record in the UFC since moving to welterweight.Previously, Machado Garry had been slated to fight Shavkat Rahmonov, who found himself without an opponent after Belal Muhammad, the UFC welterweight champion, had to withdraw from the scheduled bout on December 7 at UFC 310 due to health issues.
Ian Machado Garry last stepped into the octagon in June at UFC 303, where he secured a unanimous decision victory over Michael Page. He boasts fifteen wins, including eight by knockout, and has yet to suffer a defeat. Meanwhile, Shavkat Rahmonov can proudly showcase an impressive record of eighteen finishes in eighteen fights.
