The Ministry of Energy has submitted a statement regarding oil production at Tengiz.

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan announced a reduction in oil production at the facility due to technical maintenance at the second-generation plant, according to NUR.KZ, citing the agency.
Минэнерго получило заявление о добыче нефти на Тенгизе.

Oil production at Tengiz has decreased by 28-30%, which corresponds to 61-63 thousand tons per day.

Production at the second-generation plant was partially halted for maintenance work on the E-401A waste heat boiler of the 400 unit. During the equipment inspection, local through corrosion damage was found.

The repair work is expected to be completed by November 23.

Recall that at the end of October, Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev announced a reduction in oil production in Kazakhstan for the current year. According to him, the final figures will be influenced by weather factors and the early completion of repair work at Kashagan.

In the summer, it was reported that Kazakhstan plans to cut oil production due to exceeding its commitments under the OPEC+ agreement in May.

In early November, OPEC+ members, including Kazakhstan, extended the reduction of "black gold" production until the end of December.

According to information on the "Tengizchevroil" company's website, the Tengiz field is the deepest supergiant oil field in the world, with its upper oil-bearing reservoir lying at a depth of about 4000 meters. The Tengiz reservoir stretches 21 kilometers (13 miles) in length and 20 kilometers (12 miles) in width, with the oil-bearing layer's height reaching 1.6 kilometers.

The recoverable oil reserves of the Tengiz and Korolev fields amount to 1.4 billion tons (11.5 billion barrels).
