The Mangistau region is actively advancing the renewable energy sector.

In the Mangistau region, significant investment projects are underway for the production of green hydrogen and the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of 50 MW per day. This was announced by Nurdaulat Kilybay, the akim of the Mangistau region, during a briefing at the central communications service, as reported by the press service of the regional akimat.
В Мангистауской области активно развивают возобновляемые источники энергии.

According to the regional akim, the wind power plant "Sarıqylmas Quat," set to be built in the village of Munayshy in the Karakiyansky district, is planned to be commissioned in 2025.

The project, which costs 13.4 billion tenge, covers an area of 45.5 hectares. It will consist of 8 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6.25 MW. A workforce of 120 people will be involved in the construction, while 15 permanent jobs will be created during the operational phase.

Additionally, following the directive from the head of state, a hybrid power station utilizing renewable energy sources is planned to be constructed in the city of Zhanaozen.

According to the project, electricity will be generated by a solar power station with a capacity of 50 MW (75,000 units), a wind power station with a capacity of 77 MW (11 units), and a gas turbine power station with a capacity of 120 MW. The construction period is set for 2024-2026.

A project for the production of green hydrogen will also be implemented in the region.

"As part of the green hydrogen production project being carried out by the German company Svevind, a desalination plant, renewable energy stations (wind and solar) with a capacity of 40 GW, and an electrolyzer with a capacity of 20 GW will be built. This will enable the production of 2 million tons of green hydrogen or 11 million tons of green ammonia annually. The project will see an investment of 50 billion euros, creating 3,500 jobs during construction and 1,800 permanent jobs during the operational phase. The project will be fully operational by 2030," said Nurdaulet Kilybay.
