The construction and repair of local roads and the street-road network in the Akmolinsk region is a priority issue. In 2024, 71.5 billion tenge has been allocated from the republican and regional budgets for the construction and repair of local roads. With these funds, approximately 600 km of roads have been constructed and repaired.
The development of transport infrastructure is of great importance and is an integral part of the economic growth of the region and the country as a whole.
"Construction and installation works are being carried out within several programs. Among them are: 'Construction and repair of local roads', 'Comprehensive plan for the socio-economic development of settlements adjacent to the city of Astana', 'Regional development', 'Aul-El-Besigi', 'Development of the Shchuchinsk-Borovsk resort area', 'Development of mono-cities and small towns', 'Transfers for the construction and repair of district roads, street-road networks of settlements and cities of Kokshetau, Stepnogorsk, Koshchy' and 'Construction of access roads to Comfortable Schools,' - says Vladimir Kulakov, head of the passenger transport and road management department.
According to the department's information, the implementation of major projects for capital and medium repairs of important road sections such as Shchuchinsk-Stepnyak-Valikhanovo, the eastern bypass of the city of Astana - Saryoba station, Babatay-Volgodnovka-Bereke-Bulaksai, Novy Koluton-Akkol-Azat-Minsk, Shchuchinsk-Nikolaevka, Burabay-Katarkol, Korgalzhyn-Arykty-Sabyndy, Zhaksy-Dzherzhavinsk, Esil-Svobodnoye-Razdolnoye, Zholymbet-Shortandy-Prigorodnoye, and others has continued.
Significant attention has been given to the construction and repair of the street-road network in populated areas, including those adjacent to the capital - Koshchy, Talapker, Karaotkel, Koyandy, Zhibek Zholy, Kyzylzhar, Kyzylsuat, and others.
"To ensure quality construction and installation works, funds have been allocated from the regional and district budgets for the services of the National Center for Quality of Road Assets, which continuously conducts monitoring according to an approved schedule. Additionally, within the framework of the national project 'Comfortable School,' the construction of 9 schools is underway in the region (in the city of Kokshetau and the Tselinograd district). As is known, the Ministry of Education provides all necessary infrastructure, including access roads. Currently, all schools are equipped with access routes," - noted Vladimir Kulakov.
During the flood season, 141 overflow incidents of meltwater across the republican and local roads in the Akmolinsk region were recorded.
"As a result of the overflows, nearly 40 local roads were affected. The length of the washed-out sections of roads exceeded 20 km, and there are damages on 3 bridges: Zhaltyr-Makinsk - 70 km at the Zholboldy River, Kiyma-Tersakan - 1 km, and the bridge in Kokshetau on B. Ashimova Street. Additionally, a new bridge must be constructed on the Akmol-Nuresil-Talapker road section," - added Vladimir Kulakov.
According to the management, the roadway has been partially restored on 15 sections. Funds amounting to 4.8 billion tenge have been allocated from the government reserve for the implementation of 15 projects in the Astrakhan, Atbasar, Esil, Zhakayin districts, and in the city of Kokshetau.
