During a conversation with media representatives, the regional head was asked about the commencement of the construction of the main gas pipeline from Aktobe to Kostanay.
Currently, the region faces a shortage of commercial gas due to the full capacity utilization of the main gas pipelines. As a result, since 2019, no permits have been issued for connecting new consumers and business facilities.
Following the directive of the head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the implementation of a significant infrastructure project worth 500 billion tenge has begun. This involves the construction of a main gas pipeline from the Aktobe region to Kostanay, aimed at resolving a long-standing issue.
"I would like construction to start before the end of 2024, but we had to slightly adjust the timelines. The process of attracting investors is underway, and QazaqGaz is currently preparing the design and estimate documentation, which we expect to receive by the end of December to early January. The routing procedure is also being coordinated. We still need to clear the land and determine the optimal path for the pipeline. Once again, I want to emphasize: we hope to implement the project as soon as possible. We are hopeful that construction can begin at least in the first half of 2025," — noted Kumar Akssakalov.
Additionally, it should be noted that this project is the largest in the region since gaining independence. Its implementation will have a significant impact on all aspects of the population's life. Furthermore, it will create excellent opportunities for the realization of major investment projects.
