Kazakhstan will send observers for the presidential elections in Belarus.

On January 26, presidential elections will be held in Belarus. Kazakhstan is sending seven individuals as observers from our country, according to NUR.KZ, citing the Central Election Commission.

The relevant order from the chairman of the commission has been published on the official website of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan.

In accordance with the Regulations on the CEC, approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 11, 1996, No. 3205, the commission confirms the list of observers from the Republic of Kazakhstan who will be sent to the presidential elections of the Republic of Belarus on January 26, 2025.

Recall that in October of last year, it became known that the next presidential elections are scheduled for January 26, 2025. Following this, the President of Belarus stated that he "feels calm" and that "there is no retention of power."

In December, the CEC of Belarus named the candidates for the presidency of Belarus: among them was Alexander Lukashenko who was registered.

It should be noted that in the last presidential elections in Belarus, which took place in August 2020, Lukashenko's opponent was a woman - Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. At that time, Alexander Lukashenko won, receiving 80.1% of the votes, while Tikhanovskaya received 10.1%.

After the election results were announced, mass protests began in Belarus, lasting for several months.

Additionally, according to information on the website of the President of Belarus, the head of state is elected for a five-year term through direct voting by all citizens with voting rights.
