The head of the KUIS has been relieved of his duties in Kazakhstan.

The head of the Penal Enforcement System Committee, Tenizhan Zhanibekov, has been relieved of his duties, as reported by NUR.KZ, citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The official website of the Criminal Executive System Committee (KUIS) lists Abai Serikovich Kairbekov as the acting chairman of the agency. Previously, this position was held by Tenizhan Janibekov.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs commented on the information.

"The individual you mentioned in your request has been relieved of his duties at his own request and is now assigned to the disposal of the Criminal Executive System Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan."

"As of now, he remains under the authority of the Criminal Executive System Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan," the response from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the editorial request stated.

It is worth noting that at the beginning of 2024, it became known that Colonel of Justice Tenizhan Janibekov was appointed as the chairman of the Criminal Executive System Committee (KUIS). It was reported that he previously held the position of head of the Criminal Executive System Department for the city of Shymkent and Turkestan region.

According to information on the official website of the KUIS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, Tenizhan Nurmakanovich Janibekov has been in the internal affairs bodies of Kazakhstan since 1995. He started as an investigator's assistant in the Department of Internal Affairs of the Al-Farabi District in South Kazakhstan (now Turkestan region). Since 2002, he has served in the penitentiary system of the republic. He also held the position of first deputy chairman of the KUIS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
