“In 2023, we encountered instances where one individual imported 793 vehicles. A total of 34 individuals brought in over 100 cars. This indicates that they are engaged in entrepreneurial activities. Therefore, the issue is not about imposing restrictions. We are stating that if people wish to conduct business by importing cars in large quantities, they must adhere to the legal requirements set by government authorities. They need to pay all applicable fees,” said the minister.
He emphasized that if someone wants to engage in the car sales business, they should establish a limited liability partnership (LLP) and become an official dealer.
Let us remind you that in Kazakhstan, starting from December 1, 2024, individuals officially listed in the Vehicle Type Approval Certificate (VTAC) will be allowed to import vehicles younger than three years.
The VTAC, or Vehicle Type Approval Certificate, is a document on a special form approved by the Eurasian Economic Commission. It essentially confirms that the vehicle, whether produced in series or as part of a specific batch, meets all safety and environmental standards of the Customs Union. In essence, the certificate verifies that the vehicle is suitable for use on our roads.
