In Almaty, the detention of Yevgeny Nakaznenko has been extended. He is accused in Russia of inciting terrorism.

The extradition detention period for Russian national Yevgeny Nakaznenko, who was arrested in September at the Almaty airport, has been extended by 12 months, according to Orda.kz, citing "Radio Azattyq."
В Алматы продлили арест Евгения Наказненко, обвиняемого в России в призывах к терроризму.

Evgeny Nakaznenko will remain in custody until September 2025.

The lawyer believes that the decision violates international conventions ratified by Kazakhstan, as well as the norms of criminal and criminal procedural legislation.

Meanwhile, Nakaznenko's supporters have started a petition directed at the authorities of Kazakhstan, urging them not to extradite Nakaznenko to Russia. They fear that if extradited, Moscow will charge the detainee with "justifying terrorism" and spreading "fake news" about the military—putting him in danger.

The director of a language school in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Evgeny Nakaznenko, was detained at Almaty airport while attempting to fly to Turkey on September 17.

Nakaznenko had been placed on an interstate wanted list by the Novosibirsk Investigative Committee for the Russian Criminal Code articles "Fake news about the military" and "Calls for terrorism."

According to his lawyer, Nakaznenko was unaware that he was being sought in Russia and intended to travel abroad for a business trip.

Reports from his lawyer indicate that Nakaznenko held a residence permit in Kazakhstan, but he did not manage to obtain citizenship.
