Nearly 70,000 residents of Kazakhstan have faced account freezes due to the failure to submit income declarations.

In 2024, Kazakhstan completed the third phase of its nationwide declaration process. For the first time, company leaders, founders, and individual entrepreneurs declared their assets both domestically and abroad. They submitted what is referred to as the "initial" declaration, according to Orda.kz.
Около 70 тысяч граждан Казахстана столкнулись с блокировкой счетов из-за не подачи декларации о доходах.
"If an individual entrepreneur or a self-employed person fails to submit their declaration, there may be a temporary freeze on their bank account operations. Once the violations are rectified, accounts will be unblocked within one business day. Citizens who do not submit their declarations on time face administrative penalties. For a first-time offense, this will result in a warning," the Ministry of Finance reported.

This year, 4.8 million people were required to submit their declarations. Among them, 68.3 thousand individual entrepreneurs and private practitioners experienced a freeze on their banking operations. Currently, over 17.5 thousand of them have resolved their violations, and their accounts have been unblocked.
