“Employees of the Department for Investigating Transportation Incidents are on the scene of the aviation accident, where they are conducting the field phase of the investigation,” the statement said.
Representatives of the State Agency for Civil Aviation of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan Airlines have already arrived in Aktau.
“Representatives from the aircraft manufacturer Embraer and the Brazilian Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA) have also flown to Kazakhstan,” the Ministry of Transport added.
Since yesterday, a government commission has been operating in Aktau, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbaev. The day before, its members visited the scene of the incident and later met with the victims.
The Embraer-190 aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines, which was flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed in Aktau on December 25. The aviation disaster resulted in the deaths of 38 people, while 29 others survived and were taken to the hospital.
