The Interdistrict Court for Criminal Cases in Astana has sentenced a man for fraud. The defendant stole over 300,000 tenge by offering to sell "Dubai chocolate," according to Orda.kz.

The state prosecutor requested a sentence of three years and six months of restricted freedom. The defense insisted on a punishment not involving imprisonment. The court took into account mitigating circumstances: the defendant expressed remorse and compensated the victims for their losses. No aggravating circumstances were identified.
As a result, the court found the man guilty and sentenced him to three years of restricted freedom. The sentence has not yet come into legal effect.
