"Kantare continues to be surrounded by speculation and various theories about what happened," stated Tokayev.

In an interview with the newspaper Ana Tili, the president commented on the events of January, as reported by Orda.kz.
«Вокруг Кантара продолжают циркулировать слухи и различные версии событий», — заявил Токаев.
“The evident social injustice, political stagnation, as well as the unbridled ambitions of conspirators, their indifference to the fate of the people and the state.”

According to Tokayev, Kazakhstan was neither the first nor likely the last in world history to face such challenges.

“Rumors and various versions of what happened still circulate around Kantara. Especially since some biased individuals, harboring specific political calculations, are juggling facts and attempting to manipulate citizens' emotions,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

He reminded everyone of his directive to conduct an objective investigation into the January events and the parliamentary hearings on the matter, during which uncomfortable questions were raised.

“One thing is clear: had there not been decisive actions against the instigators of the riots and the organizers of the coup at that time, Kazakhstan would be a completely different state today, with much less independence and limited sovereignty,” Tokayev believes.

In the president's view, Kantara taught Kazakhstan several lessons:

“First, power in the country must be consolidated; there should be no dual authority. Second, the Head of State is a hired state manager for a specific term, not the 'shadow of the Almighty.' Third, there needs to be a careful selection of candidates for high state positions, including leaders of law enforcement agencies; they must be devoted to the Motherland, the Republic of Kazakhstan. And most importantly, the principles of justice must be implemented everywhere, safeguarding the unity of the people based on the concept of 'Law and Order.' Those who oppose this concept and advocate for anarchy in society in the name of 'democratic values' essentially seek to undermine Kazakh statehood,” stated the head of state.
