The UK will provide Ukraine with a $3 billion loan.

An agreement to provide Ukraine with £2.26 billion (approximately $3 billion) was signed by Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko and UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves, according to Orda.kz, citing the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance.

“The loan will be serviced and repaid using the income from frozen assets of the Russian Federation. The financing is provided for a period of 30 years. The funds raised will be allocated for the purchase of defense materials according to the needs of the Ukrainian side,”
is stated in the official message from the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

The issued loan is part of the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration for Ukraine mechanism (an emergency lending program for Ukraine) from the G7 countries, totaling $50 billion. Under this mechanism, Ukraine has already received $1 billion from the United States and €3 billion from the EU.

BBC reports that following a meeting with the President of Ukraine, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom spoke on the phone with Donald Trump, as well as with French President Emmanuel Macron. The content of the discussions has not been disclosed.

On Sunday, Volodymyr Zelensky will participate in a summit on Ukraine.
