Rescuers are checking the safety of churches

In the Zaporizhzhia region, religious services have been canceled in churches close to the front line. This was announced by the head of the region, Yevhen Balitsky.

In Tokmak and within a 15 km radius from the combat contact line, Christmas services have been completely abandoned.

“In churches located more than 15 kilometers from the combat contact line, including the Chernihiv and Mykhailiv municipal districts, festive services will only take place inside the churches with a limit on the number of parishioners,” the regional head wrote on his Telegram channel.

For residents of those settlements located more than 30 kilometers from the front line, festive services will be held without additional restrictions after the curfew ends.

Emergency service personnel have already begun preparations for Christmas by checking churches for safety.

“The police will conduct checks on the anti-terrorist security of places where large numbers of people gather,” clarified the governor of the Zaporizhzhia region.

He urged residents to be vigilant about suspicious items and report them to law enforcement.

“Let’s take responsibility for our own safety,” added Yevhen Balitsky.

He also expressed hope that the restrictions would not affect the festive spirit.
