The length of the dam is over six kilometers, with a height ranging from two to 5.3 meters, depending on the terrain. The project is being implemented through the funds of the "Demeu Kazakhstan Fund."
“A significant amount of work was done in this area last year, and a considerable amount of resources and manpower were invested. It is essential to address all the issues that arose during last year's flood. First and foremost, the work must be carried out with high quality. All contractors have been warned: strict control is in place, and every tenge allocated is accounted for,” said the head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Janet Mikishev.
Additionally, the protective dam of Lake Anarkol is being reconstructed in the Anarsky rural district of the Arshaly region.
“To prevent the lake from filling and overflowing through the protective dam, 15 drainage structures will be installed at the lower part of the Anarkol dam,” the agency added.
Previously, "Kazhydromet" identified regions with a high risk of flooding in 2025.
