Guests at the closing ceremony witnessed a grand festive concert dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day. It was both symbolic and touching as the song "From Heroes of Bygone Days" was performed by Great Patriotic War veteran Igor Vasilyevich Timashev and SVO participant Sergey Borzov. They were accompanied by the Bolshoi Children's Choir named after Popov. The audience listened to it standing.
The evening's headliners included the incomparable Pelageya and the world-renowned ballet "Kostroma." The premiere was the song "Malychiki" by the group "Katyusha," while the festival's steadfast friend, the band "Zveroboy," played their military hits.
The main guests of the evening were, of course, our soldiers.
“I am immensely pleased to be invited, that veterans of the SVO are given a voice and a platform. This is important and necessary. I am genuinely happy,” says SVO veteran and Order of Courage recipient Ilya Kazakov.
Over the three days of the festival, viewers saw 26 films. Among them were the best recent frontline films and premieres, including the new work by military documentarians RT, Olga Kiry and Artem Somov, titled "Island of Faith," as well as the Media Holding "Komsomolskaya Pravda" film "Defense of the Kursk Region: Stories of Heroism."
The business program included roundtables and open meetings with stars, soldiers, war correspondents, authors, and heroes of documentary films.
“RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes” presented an expanded international program for the first time, featuring films from documentarians from Italy, Palestine, Serbia, Slovakia, and other countries. Within this framework, a roundtable titled “Breaking the Information Blockade” was held.
About the festival:
The International Festival "RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes" brings together documentarians, war correspondents, artists, poets, musicians, and opinion leaders on its platforms. The festival program is united by a common idea: “This is the time of heroes. This is our time.” At the heart of each film is a poignant story, where behind every frame lies a human destiny. This is cinema about defenders of Donbass, heroes on the frontlines and in the rear, volunteers, doctors, war correspondents, artists, and musicians. Our cinema halls are a territory of truth.
