China responds to Tokayev's remarks on the partnership between Kazakhstan and the PRC (video).

The official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gao Jiakun, announced that China is prepared to elevate its relations with Kazakhstan to a new level, as reported by the 24KZ television channel.

The words of the Chinese Foreign Ministry representative were a response to an interview given by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Ana tili newspaper. The head of state emphasized that "Kazakhstan is a crucial strategic partner for China."

Guo Jiaqun noted that 2024 has become yet another "dynamic year" in the development of Chinese-Kazakh relations. The interaction between the leaders of the two countries has provided a strong impetus for bilateral cooperation, with an increase in mutual visits at various levels, and trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian ties continuing to strengthen.

"China and Kazakhstan are friendly neighbors with high mutual trust, connected by both mountains and rivers. Cooperation between the two countries is actively and comprehensively developing in various fields.

"In the new year, China is ready to continue strengthening the connection of development strategies with Kazakhstan, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, jointly address pressing issues, and elevate bilateral relations to a new level," stated the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiaqun.

It is worth noting that in early January, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a significant interview to the "Ana tili" newspaper.

Among other topics, Tokayev discussed relations with the PRC. He mentioned that President Xi Jinping is well-acquainted with our country and holds warm feelings towards the Kazakh people.

"During his state visit to Kazakhstan, President Xi Jinping emphasized that China will never harm our country and fully supports its sovereignty and independence. This is an extremely important statement," Tokayev noted.
