In the Karaganda region, a rare monkey listed in the Red Book was seized from a private pet store.

In Temirtau, environmental police officers, along with representatives from the organization "Alliance for Animal Protection," discovered a red-listed animal—a brown capuchin—in a pet store, according to Orda.kz.
В Карагандинской области из частного зоомагазина изъяли редкую обезьяну, занесённую в Красную книгу.

The 35-year-old pet shop owner claims that the monkey was left with him for temporary care, but he was unable to provide any documentation for the animal.

“An investigation into the illegal handling of endangered species has been initiated, and the police are starting an inquiry into how this rare representative of fauna ended up in Kazakhstan. During the documentation check, a steppe corsac was also found without legal verification. The pet shop owner has been held administratively accountable,” the police reported.
