The regional health department commented on the video. It turned out that the footage was recorded on December 27, and the events unfolded somewhat differently.
“Since the beginning of 2024, 625 ampoules of the drug 'Tramadol' have been prescribed to 27 patients at this clinic. Due to the registration of an additional oncology patient, 50 ampoules of the medication were temporarily (on a return basis) obtained from the Atyrau regional oncology dispensary. The situation arose due to the inexperience of a young specialist. The employee, under the watch of cameras, became flustered and was unable to explain the situation correctly, which led him to ask the security guard to temporarily hide the ampoules. However, we emphasize that these medications were legitimate medical supplies subject to return,” the press service of the department clarified.
Arriving police conducted an inspection and confirmed the presence of all the 'Tramadol' ampoules at the site. Following the incident, staff received explanatory training.
The department added that the storage and distribution of medications in healthcare facilities are under strict control, and urged the public not to spread false information.
In the Turkestan region, a guard of a medical facility was detained, from whom 2416 tablets of 'Tramadol' were seized. According to preliminary data, he acquired the medication in Shymkent using prescriptions from the hospital where he worked. All seized tablets were handed over to the police for examination.
