In Almaty, students engaged in a large-scale brawl, prompting the police to initiate a criminal investigation.

“Representations have been sent to the administration of educational institutions where adolescents study, aimed at eliminating the causes and conditions that contributed to the commission of the crime. The actions of each individual will be legally assessed by the investigation, and measures will be taken in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” commented the press service of the Almaty Department of Police.

The case is under the control of the Children’s Ombudsman of Almaty, Diana Erlan. Parents reached out to her after the teenagers were sent to a special school.

“I have sent a request to the prosecutor's office regarding the legal assessment of placing minors in a special educational institution. Today, the prosecutor's office revoked the decision to place the children in the special school,” wrote the ombudsman.

Materials on each participant in the case will be reviewed by the interdepartmental commission on juvenile affairs at the Alatau district akimat.

Previously, in Semey, a group of teenagers brutally beat a younger student. A video of the violence spread on social media. The police have initiated a criminal case. All participants in the incident will be sent to a specialized school for children with deviant behavior.
