Murder of a soldier in Mangistau: the criminal case is being heard in an open court.

In Astana, a trial is underway for Damir Dosov, the commander of the anti-aircraft artillery platoon from military unit 25744 of the Aktau garrison, according to Orda.kz.

The proceedings are taking place in the specialized inter-district military court for criminal cases in Astana. As reported by the lawyer for the family of the deceased, Azamat Sagal, the case is being heard in an open setting.

Recall that the tragedy occurred on September 7, 2024. At the "Oimasha" training ground, where military exercises were being conducted, the commander of platoon military unit 25744 fired a shot from a service pistol, and the bullet struck the head of a nearby soldier.

Marat Barkulov sustained injuries that were incompatible with life and succumbed to them while being transported to the hospital. The family of the deceased conscript has stated that they do not believe the version of an accident.

Following the conscript's death, the Ministry of Defense established a special commission to investigate the circumstances of the emergency in Mangistau.
