The cost of auto insurance will vary based on the severity of damage in an accident, according to the Federal Service for Insurance Supervision.

The Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market has issued a decree to amend and supplement certain regulatory legal acts of the Republic, as reported by Kazpravda.kz.
Стоимость автостраховки зависит от степени ущерба в случае ДТП, сообщает АРРФР.

The resolution includes a set of amendments aimed at improving the "bonus-malus" system, which is utilized for calculating the cost of mandatory civil liability insurance for vehicle owners (OGLP VTS) and actuarial activities.

In particular:

- the classes of the "bonus-malus" system have been expanded from the existing 15 to 18;

- the severity of damage in the event of a traffic accident is now taken into account. Currently, the system only considers the number of accidents. For incidents with minor damage up to 200 MRP or simplified settlement of accidents through the European Protocol, a smaller surcharge is applied to the cost of the next contract compared to damage exceeding 200 MRP;

- the possibility of reducing the cost of the OGLP VTS contract has been provided for individuals who have been in class "13" (the highest class) of the bonus-malus system without incidents for 5 or more years, through the application of proprietary scoring by insurance organizations;

- when calculating the cost of the OGLP VTS contract, the number and severity of administrative and criminal offenses for violating traffic rules (TRO) are now taken into account. If an accident occurs and there are three or more traffic violations within a year, such as crossing into oncoming traffic or running a red light, along with other offenses specified by the Resolution, a small surcharge will be applied to the cost of the next contract;

- new areas of activity for actuaries have been considered, such as contributions to the development of insurance and actuarial activities in Kazakhstan and voluntary membership in the Society of Actuaries of Kazakhstan, upon confirmation of actuaries' qualifications.

The resolution also includes other editorial amendments based on the results of legal monitoring.

The resolution will come into effect three months after its official publication.
