Токаев провел встречу с Мишустиным в Астане.

A meeting took place at the Akorda residence between the head of state and the Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin, who is in Kazakhstan to participate in the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the Digital Almaty 2025 forum.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the prospects for the development of Kazakh-Russian strategic partnership, paying special attention to strengthening trade, economic, and investment cooperation, including through the Eurasian Economic Union.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highly appreciated Mikhail Mishustin's personal contribution to strengthening the ties of friendship and good neighborliness between the countries and emphasized the importance of implementing the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to Astana on November 27 of last year.

"The relations between our countries are on the rise and encompass almost all areas of cooperation. We view your visit to Astana as an important stage in the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level. During Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin's visit to Kazakhstan, a regional forum successfully took place in Ufa. This year, we plan to hold another forum, this time in Uralsk, on the territory of Kazakhstan. I believe that this format of cooperation certainly yields beneficial results," – emphasized the president.

Mikhail Mishustin expressed his readiness to continue the practical implementation of the tasks set by the heads of the two states.

"I would like to take this opportunity to convey the best wishes from the President of Russia, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Indeed, he was here for a historic state visit in November of last year. And you, esteemed Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich, visited Russia in December, in St. Petersburg. The Regional Forum is very important for us. The regions of Russia directly interact with many areas of Kazakhstan. This, as you mentioned, is a very important format, and we will continue to promote its effectiveness. Kazakhstan is a close neighbor and ally of the Russian Federation. Our relations are built on the principles of friendship and mutual respect," – noted the Prime Minister of Russia.

Mikhail Mishustin informed Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about the results of the negotiations between the governmental delegations of Kazakhstan and Russia, noting that the agreements reached across the entire spectrum of the bilateral agenda will serve to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the further implementation of joint projects in energy, industry, transport infrastructure, agriculture, and other areas. Current issues related to scientific, technical, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation were also discussed.

The head of state announced that he accepted the invitation from the President of Russia to attend the events dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory.

It is worth noting that previously, President Vladimir Putin invited Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to attend the anniversary celebrations for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which will take place in Moscow.
