Tokayev has ordered the launch of the "Akim School" in Kazakhstan.

During an expanded government meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the training of akims in Kazakhstan and instructed the launch of a new educational project, reports NUR.KZ, citing the Akorda.
Токаев дал указание открыть "Школу акимов" в Казахстане.

"To achieve the outlined objectives, the effective functioning of the entire state apparatus is required. The introduction of direct elections for akims has resulted in the emergence of a new category of civil servants - elected managers. This amounts to over 2,500 leaders, with an increasing number of them being individuals who have not previously worked in public service, including youth. Therefore, the issue of comprehensive training for elected akims and leaders at various levels becomes relevant. I instruct the government, together with the Agency for Civil Service Affairs, to launch a training project called 'School of Akims,'" he mandated.

The head of state recommended taking into account the experience of the Amanat party, which is already engaged in such work.

"The main task of the state apparatus is to address the pressing problems of citizens, which is impossible without constant communication with them. Therefore, special attention should be paid to citizens' requests. Last year alone, over 50,000 appeals were received by the Presidential Administration, while nearly four million were directed to all state bodies across the country. This figure increases year by year.

On one hand, this indicates that people have faith in the concept of a 'listening state.' However, on the other hand, it is evident that their issues are not being resolved in the daily operations of government bodies. Thus, a thorough review of mistakes is necessary. Typically, behind these appeals are the fates of individuals, which calls for full engagement from all authorized structures," added Tokayev.

It is worth noting that last autumn, Tokayev pointed out that the institution of akims has significantly changed as a result of the reforms carried out. He emphasized that the final transition to direct elections for rural akims has allowed for a 90% renewal of the corps.

"Akims should be active citizens who care about the fate of their country. These are the individuals who need comprehensive support. It is especially important for maslikhat deputies and akims to work in harmony, as they can be considered two pillars of the state in the regions," stated the President of Kazakhstan.

In January of this year, Tokayev emphasized that akims must be prepared to make bold decisions.
