"Kazakhstan enjoys a high level of trust in the world and is referred to as a 'middle power.' However, this elevated status must be supported by concrete results not only in the political sphere but, above all, by practical achievements in the fields of economy, investment, science, and technology.
In the current geopolitical realities, it is necessary to move towards a new level of cooperation with neighboring countries (Central Asian nations and the EAEU), which will enhance the competitive advantages of the region and Kazakhstan.
The government needs to develop a comprehensive set of specific measures to foster mutually beneficial connections in industry, transportation and logistics, the IT sector, agriculture, and other areas," - stated Tokayev.
He added that the implementation of major investment projects with China, Russia, the USA, EU countries, the Middle East, Asia, and other states should be kept under special control.
Recall that in a recent extensive interview, Tokayev was already asked about the role of middle powers and what Kazakhstan will do in this capacity.
"Given the strong demand for the formation of a more just world, middle powers, in my opinion, are capable of playing a significant role in overcoming the crisis of international trust and the deficit of responsible global leadership.
I am convinced that the time has come for middle powers to collectively build new solid bridges between conflicting geopolitical poles and thereby reduce the level of international confrontation," - the president noted.
In the same interview, the president discussed the outcomes of negotiations with Chinese President Xi Jinping, who visited Akorda, emphasized that "Putin understands the specifics of Kazakhstan well," and commented on the talks with Russia and China regarding the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan.
