Lawyer Papkov: Teplyakov inundates the police with complaints regarding the case of his neighbor's assault.

The Teplyakov family gained fame in 2021 thanks to their eldest daughter, Alice, who enrolled at Moscow State University at the age of 9, becoming the youngest student in the country.

The surname Teplyakovs rose to prominence in 2021 due to Alice, the eldest daughter, who entered Moscow State University at just 9 years old, making her the youngest student in the nation. However, over the past four years, the large family (raising nine children, the youngest being five months old) has mostly been in the news for scandals.

Currently, for instance, a fight in the girls' locker room of a sports school is making headlines, where the older Teplyakov children - Alice, Heimdall, Leia, and Terra - practice taekwondo.

This reminds us of another high-profile incident that occurred on September 2 of last year in the courtyard of an apartment building on Odessa Street, where the Teplyakovs rented a six-room apartment. A resident from a neighboring building - a retired medical worker - was walking with her one-year-old granddaughter. According to her, seven Teplyakov children were playing in the sandbox at that time. Heimdall (the second oldest after Alice) became upset about something and started throwing sand at the pensioner and her granddaughter. She made a remark. The children reacted aggressively - Alice demanded to be addressed as “Your Highness,” and then called her father. Evgeny rushed over with his wife Natalia, attacked the pensioner, snatched her phone from her hand, and punched her in the temple. The woman fell to the ground.

The woman reported all of this in a statement to the police, attaching a medical report indicating a diagnosis of “concussion, closed head injury, knee bruise, and abrasions.” There are also testimonies from witnesses and a video recording made by a passerby. Lawyer Anton Papkov took on the pensioner's case pro bono. What is the current status of the case?

- According to the forensic medical examination, the bodily injuries inflicted on Elena Konstantinovna were assessed as not causing harm to her health, - Anton Papkov told KP.RU. - The injuries were not limited to those recorded on September 3, 2024; others were also documented. In this case, the presence of hooligan motives, i.e., unlawful actions committed without cause or with a trivial cause, is more significant than the absence of harm to health. If the victim's unlawful behavior serves as the reason for the actions, then the “offender” is not subject to criminal liability for committing a crime out of hooligan motives.

- The Teplyakovs usually do not sit idle and adopt the “best defense is a good offense” approach. How did they respond this time?

- To avoid criminal responsibility for actions committed out of hooligan motives, Teplyakov inundated the police with statements accusing Elena Konstantinovna of unlawful actions against him and his children. He took the risk of bringing his older children for questioning at the juvenile affairs department of the Zuyzino police and even managed to have the prosecutor's office cancel the decision to refuse to initiate a case based on his complaint. Additional checks were conducted regarding Elena Konstantinovna.

- What did the children say during questioning?

- The minors omitted details about their actions and their father's actions in their statements. Their explanations boiled down to claims that Elena Konstantinovna allegedly engaged in inappropriate actions toward them (provoking the conflict, insulting them, throwing toys, lunging at Evgeny Teplyakov and grabbing him by the throat, attempting to hit Alice in the stomach, etc.), which she allegedly did both before Evgeny Teplyakov arrived at the playground and in his presence.

- That's something new. Does Evgeny also speak of provocation?

- He categorically refuses to provide explanations.

- But the woman mentioned that she was kicked. Was this confirmed?

- During the review of the surveillance video and additional questioning of Elena Konstantinovna, it was established that from the moment she arrived with her granddaughter until the police arrived, two unrelated teenagers aged 14-17 were present at the playground. They now need to be identified and questioned. Firstly, their statements will answer several pertinent questions, particularly whether Elena Konstantinovna did what the Teplyakovs accuse her of. Secondly, the presence of outsiders in a public place gives grounds to qualify the actions not under Article 116 (beating out of hooligan motives) but under Article 213, part 1, clause “a” (hooliganism with the use of violence). It should be noted that the use of foul language, violent actions, and the wrongful creation of obstacles for Elena Konstantinovna and her granddaughter to leave the playground, along with the seizure of her phone using physical superiority over an elderly woman with a one-year-old granddaughter, committed in a public place in the presence of unrelated minors, makes these actions even more socially dangerous.

A screenshot from the video showing the mentioned teenagers was posted by Anton Papkov on his Telegram channel. This might help find important witnesses.
