Two unknown individuals fired multiple shots at the car he was in and fled the scene. Allamzhanov was unharmed.
Komil Allamzhanov was dismissed from his position as head of the information policy department of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan on September 30 of this year. He later stated that he would continue to work in the private sector.
Earlier, a source from "Ozodlik" within the Uzbek government claimed that there was a "war" between Komil Allamzhanov, a close associate of Saida Mirziyoyeva, and a third party in the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Otbek Umarov, along with the State Security Service.
The motive behind this "war" is unknown to "Ozodlik."
However, another source, who claimed to be informed about the situation, reported that Otbek Umarov was furious over the exposure of an "influential office" in Tashkent linked to his name.
According to the source, Umarov suspected that "Allamzhanov had a hand" in the exposure of this "office," which allegedly "pressured local businessmen and officials."
Sources from "Ozodlik" asserted that following these revelations, a check was initiated at the "influential office," and several individuals connected to Umarov "fled to Dubai."
Previously, sources from "Ozodlik" in the government of Uzbekistan indicated that Komil Allamzhanov's resignation at the end of September came as a "surprise" to many in the government and the Presidential Administration.
Earlier reports suggested that the 40-year-old Allamzhanov would "remain in the team" of Saida Mirziyoyeva.
Allamzhanov's resignation ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan at the end of October this year sparked rumors about his potential appointment to a new, higher position.
