According to the authorities, there is currently a queue of over 400 freight trucks at the "Tazhen" border crossing on the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan section of the state border, waiting to exit Kazakhstan.
“The increase in traffic flow is due to the opening of the road ‘Daut-Ata – Konyrat’ (400 km) in Uzbekistan, which has led to a surge in freight vehicles. Despite the designed capacity of the border crossing, which is 150 trucks per day in one direction, the ongoing reconstruction of ‘Tazhen’ allows for the processing of 200-250 freight vehicles for exit,” the press release states.
In light of this, carriers have been advised to plan their routes considering potential delays or to choose alternative paths for transporting goods to avoid extended waiting times at the border.
