How much will the payment for compulsory health insurance (OSMS) be in 2025?

As the minimum wage in Kazakhstan will remain unchanged, most payments for the Mandatory Social Health Insurance (OSMS) will also stay the same, reports Kazpravda.kz, citing the Medical Insurance Fund.
Какова сумма взносов на ОСМС в 2025 году?

The Social Health Insurance Fund has reminded that the basis for calculating contributions for self-employed individuals and individual entrepreneurs is the minimum wage. In 2025, its amount will remain at the same level – 85,000 tenge. This means that the contribution amounts will also remain unchanged.

The rates for employers and employees will also stay the same – 3% and 2%, respectively.

Only the size of the unified payment will change – from 21.5% to 23.8%, as well as the contributions from the government for privileged categories of the population – from 1.9% to 2% of the average monthly salary for the two years preceding the current financial year. This is determined by the authorized body in the field of state statistics. According to the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the average monthly salary for the year 2023 in the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to 364,295 tenge.

Thus, the payment amounts for the Mandatory Social Health Insurance (OSMS) in 2025 will be as follows:
• Employer contributions – 3% of the employee's accrued income;
• Employee contributions – 2% of income;
• Unified payment contributors – 23.8% of the payroll fund;
• Contributions from individuals working under civil contracts – 2% of income;
• Contributions from individual entrepreneurs and private practitioners – 5,950 tenge (5% of 1.4 times the minimum wage established for the relevant financial year by the law on the republican budget);
• Contributions from self-employed individuals – 4,250 tenge (5% of the minimum wage);
• Government contributions to OSMS – 7,285.9 tenge.

Contributions to OSMS can be paid through the cash desks of JSC "Kazpost", cash desks and mobile applications of second-tier banks, and payment terminals.
