“I also receive reports, and I have met with parents (clarified – ed. note) to determine how voluntary this is and whether it is at the parents' request, and if there are any other intentions behind it. If the parents' involvement is indeed voluntary, then there are no prohibitions regarding national attire. However, this must not contradict the law established by the ministry’s order,” the minister stated at a government press conference.
He emphasized that schools do not have the right to compel parents to purchase national clothing for their children. The minister also reminded everyone about the ban on wearing hijabs and other religious garments in schools.
