The renowned Surinamese heavyweight knockout artist in the UFC, Jairzinho Rozenstruik , has been released from the roster of the most influential mixed martial arts promotion in the world, according to reports from Vesti.kz citing the UFC press service.
Rozenstruik fought his last match on February 1 in Saudi Arabia at the event UFC Fight Night 250 , where he lost by unanimous decision to Russian fighter Sergey Pavlovich .
Following the tournament, UFC president Dana White criticized their fight:
"Terrible, terrible fight. Look, we can say the fight was awful, but Sergey won. It was not pretty; it was not interesting to watch, and it was the only fight of the evening that was booed," the official stated.
The 36-year-old Rozenstruik has been with the UFC since February 2019 and during these six years, he has participated in 15 bouts (9 wins and 6 losses). He held the ninth position in the promotion's heavyweight rankings.
It’s worth noting that at the UFC event in Saudi Arabia, Russian fighter Sharabutdin Magomedov, known as Shara Bullet (15-1), sensationally lost to Michael Page, nicknamed Venom (23-3), marking his first career defeat.
