At the end of March, Murmansk will host its annual ski marathon, featuring competitive events over distances of 25 and 50 km in the harsh conditions of the Far North. The accommodation booking service Avito Travel has offered assistance to participants and guests in finding suitable lodging options. The platform has compiled over 400 verified listings for short-term rentals of apartments and country houses in Murmansk and Kola.

This year's races will mark the 51st edition of the Murmansk Ski Marathon. The event continues the traditions of the Polar Olympics (the first races were held in 1934) and typically attracts thousands of fans and athletes. Participants can choose to complete the distance in either classical or freestyle techniques, depending on their preferred discipline.

— Short-term apartments and country houses enhance and diversify the selection of accommodation options, as well as address the shortage of hotels within an affordable price range. We understand that for many participants and guests of the marathon, booking short-term accommodation may be a new experience, so we have prepared a clear guide, — added Artem Kromochkin, head of Avito Travel.

Additionally, just before the ski events, from March 26 to 27, Murmansk will host the International Arctic Festival. This event will serve as a platform for discussing pressing issues related to the socio-economic development of Arctic territories, resource potential exploration, and much more.

The event will also feature one of the main forums operating within the framework of the traditional Northern Festival (also known as the Polar Olympics). Representatives from the business community and governments of all Arctic regions of Russia will attend, along with guests from foreign countries.
