Serik Jumangarin met with the head of the IMF mission in Kazakhstan.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan congratulated Ali Jawad Al-Ayed on his appointment as the head of the IMF mission, which took place on January 28, 2025. He noted that Kazakhstan has always highly valued the expert opinions of the IMF and its recommendations, which have become an indispensable resource for shaping the country's economic policy and making important strategic decisions.

“Kazakhstan has been collaborating productively with the Fund for over 30 years, receiving its invaluable support. Our long-term partnership with the IMF is crucial for ensuring economic stability and quality sustainable growth of Kazakhstan’s economy,” emphasized Serik Zhumangarin.

Meeting participants highlighted the positive outcomes of implemented projects aimed at conducting structural reforms, developing tax and budget policy, and enhancing the national financial market, where the experience and recommendations of the Fund were taken into account. The significant contribution of the Regional Center for Development of the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia, which has been operating in Almaty since 2021, was noted in strengthening regional cooperation.

Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the mission discussed the government's plans for financing the real sector of the economy, implementing tax and budget reform, and other aspects of collaboration.
