Ruslan Seisenbayev has been appointed head of the Shymkent department of the National Security Committee, reports Orda.kz.

In September of last year, he was dismissed from his position as Deputy Chairman of the Committee amid personnel changes within the security services. He had led the counter-terrorism unit for over a year.
Ruslan Seisembaev commenced his service in national security agencies in 1997. Since 2008, he has managed departments in various regions. A year prior to the January events, he was awarded the rank of Major General by the head of state.
