Workers at Kazakhmys smuggled raw materials using counterfeit documents.

Employees of the Organized Crime Control Department (OCCD) have uncovered significant thefts at an aluminum plant in the Pavlodar region and within the Kazakhmys corporation in Ulytau, as reported by Orda.kz.

In Pavlodar, workers at the aluminum plant were systematically removing metal from the company's premises. During an operational investigation, the suspects were caught red-handed while attempting to transport another batch of raw material. Preliminary estimates indicate that their actions caused damage amounting to 30 million tenge. A criminal case has been initiated concerning several episodes of theft.

Thefts at "Kazakhmys."

In the Ulytau region, officers from the Organized Crime Control Department, in collaboration with the security service of the "Kazakhmys" corporation, apprehended two criminal groups comprised of company employees. They had devised a scheme to steal material assets by exploiting their official positions.

The first group included a section chief who embezzled property worth over 16 million tenge. The second criminal group, which included a head of one of the corporation's departments, was removing raw materials from the plant using forged documents.

“Irrefutable evidence has been gathered against the individuals involved in these incidents. All suspects have been detained,” reported Kuanidk Alpyss, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Organized Crime Control Department.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, pre-trial investigations are ongoing concerning the thefts committed by organized groups in conspiracy.
