Rescuers in Aktobe spent three hours saving a horse that had fallen through the ice into the river. They successfully cut a path to reach the stranded animal.

On February 26, residents of Aktobe, while walking along the Ilek River, spotted a horse that had fallen into the water, with only its head visible above the ice. Concerned witnesses immediately called for rescue services, according to Orda.kz, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Then the rescuers decided to cut a path through the ice for the mare all the way to the shore. The distance from where the horse was located to the shore was about 20 meters.

The three-hour labor-intensive effort was justified — the animal was saved and placed in a warm barn of the nearest farm.
