At the end of winter, we traditionally celebrate the most positive and life-affirming holiday - International Optimist Day. In honor of this occasion, the KP.RU website conducted a survey and found that one in three Russians considers themselves an optimist.

33% reported that they take life easily, facing any challenges and twists that come their way. Respondents describe themselves as joyful, positive, and optimistic individuals.

“I am an incorrigible optimist. No matter how life shakes me up, I always continue to believe in people and in the best,” smiles a survey participant.

However, more than half of Russians still identify as realists. 57% of those surveyed say they do not wear rose-colored glasses and view any events, whether good or bad, that happen to them with a clear head, without excessive emotions.

On the other hand, 9% consider themselves pessimists. Participants in the study state that life has taught them to approach everything with caution, not to trust anyone, and to be prepared for any unpleasant turns. Overall, they do not believe that the future can bring them anything good.

1% chose the option "other." A survey participant noted that their attitude towards life sometimes changes, depending on many factors, and they cannot definitively label themselves as optimists or pessimists.

The survey was conducted among KP.RU website subscribers on social media platforms VKontakte and Odnoklassniki, as well as in the messaging apps Telegram and Viber. A total of 4,800 people participated in the study.
