Details have emerged about Shavkat Rakhmonov's fight against the UFC champion.

Dar Team's coach Eduard Bazrov commented on the long-awaited fight between the undefeated Kazakh fighter (19-0) and the current UFC welterweight champion, the Palestinian-American Belal Muhammad (24-3), as reported by Vesti.kz.

that they are set to share the octagon at UFC 315 in May.

"We were indeed counting on the fight to take place in May, based on preliminary information. The date will be discussed by the managers with the team. On our side, it will be Sayat Abdrakhmanov, and on their side, it will be Ali Abdel-Aziz. If both teams agree, we will then send an official request to the UFC to address this matter. This is a highly anticipated fight. I believe it would be good to hold it around the 15th. We will prepare for that moment," Bazrov stated.

It is worth noting that Rakhmonov and Muhammad were supposed to face each other in the main event of UFC 310, which took place on December 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. However, Belal withdrew from the bout due to health issues. He was replaced by Irishman Ian Garry (15-1), who lost to the Kazakh fighter by unanimous decision after five rounds in the co-main event.

This victory allowed Shavkat to rise from third to second place in the UFC welterweight rankings.

Muhammad became the UFC champion on July 27, 2024, when he won the title from British fighter Leon Edwards (22-4) by unanimous decision. Thus, Belal will make his first title defense against Shavkat.
