"Called for an end to crime": Tokayev spoke out about the murder of Sherzat Bolat.

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev granted an extensive interview to the newspaper "Ana Tili." The translation of the interview was published on the Akorda website, as reported by NUR.KZ.
"Токаев призвал остановить преступность после убийства Шерзата Болата."

In an interview, a journalist asked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to share his thoughts on the incident that occurred in Talgar, which sparked significant public outcry.

"I reiterate, the principle of 'Law and Order' in our country must remain unshakable. In my address, even before the Talgar incident, I demanded that law enforcement agencies put an end to crime and banditry.

It's important to remember that during the January events, it was precisely criminal groups that acted as the organizers of mass riots.

Over the past two years, the state has demonstrated its ability to effectively combat organized crime. The activities of the most dangerous criminal groups are being identified and suppressed, their corrupt connections and sources of financing are being determined. Last year, 246 individuals were brought to criminal responsibility, including 30 leaders of organized criminal groups. This work is under my special control," the president noted.

The head of state emphasized that following the incident in Talgar, law enforcement agencies took all necessary measures, and the suspects in the crime have been detained. The investigative actions have been completed, and a trial regarding this case will take place soon.

"All actions taken by the authorized bodies in connection with the tragic incident in Talgar fully comply with legal requirements. Everything else is speculation and insinuations from destructive figures, attempts to politicize the situation. This is unacceptable.

Regarding the individuals involved in this incident, I want to remind that the Kazakh people welcomed compatriots from abroad with open arms, calling them 'qandas.' Those who have returned to their historical homeland are obliged to strictly adhere to the laws of Kazakhstan, maintain public order, and refrain from illegal actions, especially since they behaved as required by the authorities in their previous countries of residence," Tokayev added.

It should be noted that the high-profile murder of 16-year-old Sherzat Bolat occurred in Talgar on the night of October 4. In connection with this case, 11 individuals were detained.

On December 9, the body of Sherzat Bolat's uncle was found on the outskirts of Talgar. Preliminary reports suggest he committed suicide. Later, police published his suicide note correspondence with a relative.

During the funeral of the late uncle of Sherzat Bolat, Nurkanat Gaiypbaev, the father of the murdered teenager, Karzhaubai Nurymov, was detained.

The man was subsequently arrested for 15 days for hooliganism. His sister was also arrested alongside him. Another sister of Nurymov was fined 74,000 tenge.

On December 13, the Almaty region prosecutor's office reported that the pre-trial investigation into the murder of Sherzat Bolat is nearing completion, all necessary investigative actions have been conducted, and all suspects have been detained. Previously, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Sanjar Adilov also reported the conclusion of the investigation into the case.
