In the case of Sherzat Polat's murder, 200 witnesses have been interrogated.

“The parties have reviewed all the materials, which are currently with the prosecutors who will subsequently submit them to the court. Checks of the suspects' testimonies were conducted on-site, along with face-to-face confrontations between the participants in the process, as well as other investigative actions,”
reported the police department of the Almaty region.

In October of last year, a gang of hooligans killed 16-year-old Sherzat Polat in Talgar. The crime took place near the "Kamazhai" store, owned by the victim's mother. Shortly after, a fire occurred at the house belonging to Sherzat's father.

On the night of December 9, the body of 30-year-old Nurganat Gaepbaev, the uncle of the murdered teenager, was found on the outskirts of Talgar. According to preliminary findings from the forensic examination, he committed suicide.

After Gaepbaev's funeral, Sherzat Polat's father, Karzhaubai Nury mov, caused a scandal in the village of Azat, where the family lives, which led to his arrest by the police. Administrative and criminal cases were initiated against him and his relatives.

Lawyers believe that the court proceedings may begin as early as March.
