The Head of the Media Interaction Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Svetlana Petrenko, is celebrating her anniversary on February 1. "Komsomolskaya Pravda" joins in congratulating the Major General of Justice.
Svetlana Lvovna is a top-level professional. She has devoted more than 30 years of her life to the service of the Law and her homeland, and today she manages one of the most effective press services among law enforcement structures. On all news resources, television screens, and radio waves, this delicate and charming woman comments on the most high-profile crimes.
Svetlana Petrenko hails from Rzhev. She chose to follow in her father's footsteps and enrolled in the law faculty of Kalinin State University. After graduating, she was assigned to the prosecutor's office in Staritsa, where she worked for several years in this challenging field.
However, her roots called her back, and Svetlana made a sharp career change to become a journalist. Many were surprised by her decision, but it later proved to be prophetic, as the combination of these two professions became her life's work.
Colleagues from "Rzhevskaya Pravda," where Petrenko worked, recall her vibrant and effective contributions—she could meet with anyone, conduct interviews, and prepare articles or reports on any topic: from the Komsomol to search operations and spiritual life. Notably, there was a resonant publication about Old Believers in the Rzhev region that she helped prepare.
Over time, Svetlana Petrenko decided to return to public service. She rejoined the prosecutor's office, initially in the environmental protection department, before moving to the capital's prosecutor's office. She was the first to gather correspondents and staff from the capital's supervisory agency around a round table. After the establishment of the Investigative Committee of Russia, she served as the first deputy to the former official representative of the agency, Vladimir Markin, and later headed the Media Interaction Department herself.
Svetlana Lvovna is a mother of three. She manages to handle household chores while also being available 24/7 to journalists, always ready to comment on any incident that falls under the jurisdiction of the Investigative Committee.
"Komsomolskaya Pravda" congratulates Svetlana Petrenko on her anniversary, wishing her good health, success in her service, and well-being! We have no doubt that fruitful cooperation and many joint projects await us together!
