As noted by the national company, most of those who have chosen to spend December 31st and New Year's Eve on a train will be traveling on the routes of Astana–Almaty, Astana–Shymkent, Almaty–Shymkent, Astana–Semey, and Almaty–Semey.
It is reported that every year, railway employees work around the clock to ensure comfort and safety for passengers during their journey. On New Year's Eve, 47 ticket clerks will be on duty at the train stations in Kazakhstan. There will be 73 train chiefs and 1,774 conductors of passenger cars working on the trains that night, making a total of 115 train crews.
“Among the conductors, there are those who celebrate the New Year on the train every year. At midnight, as per tradition, they call their relatives and friends to congratulate them, and then fondly look through family photos. Railway transport employees make every effort to ensure that each passenger arrives safely, comfortably, and securely at their destination, so they can celebrate the holiday with their families,” the company stated.
The conductors on duty will be on the move for 15 days.
