Nuralkhan Kusherov began his career in 2005 as an accountant-inspector and assistant to a Mazhilis deputy. In 2008, he moved to the tax authorities, where he worked his way up from expert to head of state revenue departments in various regions of Kazakhstan.
From 2015 to 2018, he served as the deputy akim of Shymkent. Following that, he was appointed head of state revenue departments in Aktau, Shymkent, and Atyrau, where Kusherov worked for the next five years. Since 2023, he has been the deputy akim of Turkestan region.
One of the amusing incidents involving Kusherov occurred during his tenure as deputy akim of the region. In August 2024, an exhibition of Chinese goods was held in Astana. Among the showcased products, the gastronomic novelties garnered particular attention. One such item was a Chinese non-alcoholic beer made from milk, which Kusherov was offered. However, judging by his reaction, the taste of the beverage was, to put it mildly, surprising and did not impress the official.
